Wild Rosehip & Castor Oil

Gathering rosehips in the Okanagan autumn has become one of my all time favorite activities. I wish I could capture the scent of the hips drying on my dehydrators. I’ll purposely run them outdoors just to share the experience with as many people as geographically possible.

Rosehips are high in vitamin C and antioxidants making them a natural remedy for age related issues such a fine lines, wrinkles, discoloration and age spots. They naturally brighten the skin and assist in locking in moisture. Dried rosehips are combined with organic, cold pressed, hexane free castor oil and organic fractionated coconut oil to create the perfect combination of a timeless beauty treatment with an oil that is quickly absorbed into the skin. Castor oil has been used for 1000’s of years as a beauty treatment as it acts as a rich, deep-penetrating moisturizer, often used to soften dry skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Fractionated coconut oil is a lightweight, non-greasy, and rapidly absorbed liquid moisturizer ideal for skin health, particularly for dry or sensitive skin. It is an effective emollient that locks in moisture, softens skin, and provides antioxidants to protect against environmental damage, all while being less likely to clog pores compared to virgin coconut oil.

If you are using an oil with a cream, always apply the cream first. The oil will help lock the moisture in from the cream and will be absorbed easier.

Once the full herbal oil emulsion is complete and the oils have turned a vibrant color the rosehips and oils are strained then bottled with the addition of vitamin E, rosehip seed oil, raspberry seed oil and an essential oil blend of bergamot, white grapefruit, rose geranium and ylang ylang a combination suited for Aphrodite Herself and of course, You.
