Yarrow was always my favourite in a wildflower bouquet as a kid. It was plentiful and filled the gaps between fireweed and Indian paintbrush so this is how I always thought of it. However, if you’re out on a hike and manage to stumble and scrape your legs or need some relief from bug bites, you can create a poultice with yarrow to apply topically. Yarrow is a natural antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, and mild analgesic which can help with minor pain and irritations. It’s also a great go to for acne in youth as it’s astringent properties helps tighten skin and shrinks the appearance of pores. It’s also hydrating, and a great choice for individuals that suffer with dry skin ailments such as eczema or psoriasis.
