Comfrey and its amazing benefits for the skin.

I had to laugh at myself years ago, when I had discovered that the weed that I kept trying to uproot out of the corner of my garden, and which seemed bound and determined to remain especially because it’s roots were in a concrete property boundary, was none other than comfrey. Oh my God, you’re comfrey! Welcome!! It had probably been growing in this spot as long as I’ve been alive or longer...planted by someone that had far more knowledge than me. Comfrey (Symphyium officinale) name comes from the Greek root word symphein, which means “to grow together” implying its highly acclaimed application for fractures.

Comfrey offers exceptional support for wound and skin repair when used topically This is due in part to the constituent allantoin, which stimulates cell proliferation and helps repair connective tissue and collagen, often leaving tissue injuries scarless. The tannins in comfrey, on the other hand, can help close minor wounds and the anti-inflammatory and emollient/ demulcent action of comfrey can help soothe pain, redness, swelling, bruising and other signs of inflammation of he skin and musculoskeletal system.
