About The Herbal Alchemist
Something about me,
This is always such an awkward statement to put out into the wide web, but I cannot talk about how this business came about without talking about my relationship with grief. I lost my dad at the end of 2019 and my brother August 1 , 2020 just a few months after the world closed its doors due to the pandemic. I prescribed myself “busyness” to stay in front of the pain of loss and fear. However, I found a sense of grounding and meaning in learning about our local herbal medicines. I loved the process of growing or foraging and then the ritual of drying and emulsifying into oils for medicine. The sweetest ritual in herbal care and one that I continue to practice is the component of intention. We put our love into our medicines, and isn’t that what grief is? It’s simply love that has nowhere to go, but I found a place for it when I’m creative.
So, Cheers to my dad and my brother because the Apothecary is a direct result of all the love I had/ have for them and cheers to anyone that you might be missing too.
